Garima and Fitness

Cycling is Garima's favorite form of workout.

Garima hadn’t always been a fitness enthusiast per se, but she believed in, and practiced a healthy lifestyle, for herself and for her family. Even after giving birth to her two children, she did not let unhealthy habits become a practice for her. However, the uncertainty of the lockdown got to her and she put on weight during the time she was home with her family.

When the restrictions eased up, Garima knew that this wasn’t the life she was going to choose for herself. She met some people from her neighborhood who were cyclists. They started going cycling together, and through one another found some other such fitness communities.

Fitness communities have played an important part in Garima's fitness journey.

Why Is It Important for Housewives to Take Their Fitness Seriously?

Garima advises all women to take out some time from the day to care for their minds and bodies.
Garima advises all women to take out some time from the day to care for their minds and bodies.

Garima talks at length about how the responsibilities of the family and home make it impossible for women to take out the time to work out.

"But if women aren't able to take care of their physical and mental well-being, how will they do that for their families?"

For Garima, working out is the 'me-time' that she gets throughout the day. This time allows her to think things through and bring peace and calm to her mind.

"Especially when I am cycling, I am focused on the road and my mind isn't distracted. I feel free of all the tensions at that moment."

Garima emphasizes that women should take out at least 30-45 minutes of their day and work on themselves. Even if it is just going for a walk. It is very important.
